I am assuming that adding some of the features (the 8 hour indicator and the True Trend) is only possible on a real trading account vs. a demo account as I am unable to implement your directions…is that correct?

    1. Jordan Lindsey

You can add any indicator to demo or live account including True Trend. You are having another issue perhaps not saving the indictors to the correct folder inside MT4 which is File > Open Data Folder > MQL4 > Indicators. Save the period convertor and true trend there.

TradingView is much easier & better than MT4 for chart analysis with pro version upgrade you can view 8 hour charts and add the true trend.

Under File, there is only New Chart, Open A Demo Account, Login To Trade Account and Logout. I’m sorry, this kind of stuff probably drives you crazy. I am on a Mac laptop.

Being on a Mac could be the issue. Here is what I see, https://postimg.cc/Q9zBzZhY

      I use a VPS on a Mac.

I have tried to use MT4 on my mac. Only sorta works with the online software, not the download because it’s only PC compatible. Problem with the online MT4 software is that you cannot upload the True Trend and Entry CCI indicators because you cannot upload files on the online version. I have a cheapo very small PC that I was successfully able to do this with, however I like the idea of having a VPS (PC partition on my MAC) if I ever want to use Mt4 on my Mac. Thanks for that idea. I have begun trading a demo account through OANDA on Trading View and like the user friendliness of that a lot. It seems like you can only trade FOREX pairs with the OANDA / Trading View combo, though. Is this true? For example, if I wanted to trade other things like the DXY, Gold, Silver or WTI, seems like I would have to use MT4 as my broker. Thank you for your course and daily broadcasts. I have been learning a lot in record time! 😀

    Hi Jordan,
Would trading on Tradingview instead of MT4 provides disadvantages or it is a matter of habits and preference ?

    1. Jordan Lindsey

I think trading off of TradingView using Oanda as a broker offers some of the best advantages including ease of use.

Hi Jordan, Am i able to add true trend to Oanda? I believe I saw it was a no..

maybe I am missing something.. How are the True Trend and Period converter downloaded and added to the indicators folder?

    1. Jordan Lindsey

Download the two indicators to your download folder (keep it open). Also open up the Indicators folder inside MT4 using the correct pathway inside MQL4 folder and drag the files from your download folder to the Indicators folder. Restart MT4

I just downloaded and installed MT4 from FXChoice. It took me to a site, https://www.mql5.com/ and asked me to sign up.
    Should I go ahead?

    1. Jordan Lindsey

Absolutely, no need at all to sign up for mql5.com

Since FX Choice is no longer allowing trading in the U.S. is there another broker to recommend for currencies in bitcoin? I am going to use the trading view platform.

    1. Jordan Lindsey

Oanda FX is the recommended platform and connected to TradingView if possible.

Oanda does not all those in the USA to trade with CFDs nor is that an option from someone in the USA

You can trade futures on TradeStation or Interactive Brokers.

FX on Oanda is where you start before trading e-minis or futures.

Jordan, the time on MT4 seems to be set to Helsinki/Athens time on my Mac. I searched some online and read that MT4 doesn’t allow for time change as it’s server-dependent. Is this correct? Since FX Choice is based in Belize, I’m confused as to why it’s not my time and not Belize time, but Helsinki time, which is UTC +2. Can you please advise on this? Thanks!

Jordan, I also have a question about the historical timeframe in MT4 on the Mac. Looks like it only goes back to 29 Oct, 2020. Is that right? Or, I need to do something else to get more history?
    Thanks, again!
